  • I felt comfortable with the way the problem was addressed and the immediate action taken. I liked that the procedures were explained and the why of them. I always felt the objective was to get me back in “action” and that was most important to me, including the referral to therapy. Thanks for your sincere interest in your patient and your follow up.

  • Drs. Brent and Carol Sue Carlson are top notch. Not many have a genuine care about their patients. All the doctors and staff I worked with at Oakleaf Medical and Chippewa Valley Orthopedics & Sports Medicine give a new meaning to patient care. They are a group of doctors who own these facilities and in my opinion are a model for all hospitals and clinics to follow. Not once did I feel like a number or another body. I was treated like part of a family. I have shared these fine physicians with many I know. They are a blessing to the medical community!

  • Thank you so much!

Dr. Carol Sue Carlson and Sissy for all your caring and compassion that you have shown me. Your cheerfulness has set me at ease everytime I walked into your office. I could not have asked for better people to help me through this ordeal. It truly has been a pleasant experience meeting both of you. You are so wonderful! I hope our paths will cross again someday under more favorable circumstances. Thanks!

  • Dr. Carlson changed my life and never gave up on helping me.

I fell down the stairs 5 years ago and broke my foot. My foot wouldn’t heal like a normal break did. The calcium was gone in my bone on the X-ray. My tendon was also torn and I had nerve damage. I went through over 70 physical therapy sessions, 6 cortisone injections, acupuncture, and 6 PRP injections. Nothing seemed to help. Dr. Hesse (another helpful doctor) referred me to Dr. Carlson. We tried a 6 day trial of a spinal cord stimulator. 6 days later I told her that it didn’t work and that it wasn’t for me. Here is what I am thankful for… Dr. Carlson ordered an X-ray and realized the electrodes slipped down in my back. She said we could try the spinal cord stimulator again, and we did. I normally couldn’t walk more than 10-15 min. and I was walking past that- almost an hour. My foot is not 100% awesome but it is so much better than what it was. With my spinal cord stimulator remote control I can put it on low, if it’s a good day, medium, or high if it’s a bad day. My son who was 11 at the time said the biggest difference was after the spinal cord stimulator (was implanted) I didn’t cry everyday if that doesn’t say the change made a huge difference- I don’t know what does. I still have my challenges of inflammation and bad days and nights but I thank God I had Dr. Carlson who never gave up on helping me and improved my quality of life.
